Essential Service Providers LLC is a Kansas City communications company. We provide voice service to households and to businesses, and we connect people to the services that keep a home running. If we don't offer the service, we probably know who does.
What we provide
We run our own communications programs, and we connect people to trusted providers for everything else. Two of the four below are phone service delivered by us.
Free wireless service and a device for qualifying households, delivered under our Platinum Wireless USA brand. We handle enrollment, setup and ongoing support ourselves.
Business phone numbers and app-based calling for small businesses and community organizations. The numbers are ours, provisioned and supported by us, and the client uses the line.
Help finding and enrolling in low-cost home internet — fiber, cable or 5G home service, depending on what actually reaches your address.
When you need something we don't provide, we point you to a provider who does, and tell you what to expect before you call.
Platinum Wireless USA
Platinum Wireless USA provides free wireless phone service to households that qualify under the federal Lifeline program. A phone is how you take the interview, hear back from the clinic and reach your kids' school. We have been doing this since 2014, and we have put close to two hundred thousand free lines in people's hands.
Alongside the community program we provide voice communication services to business clients: phone numbers, call routing and app-based calling, delivered on our own platform.
How to enroll
You qualify through your income, or by already receiving benefits such as SNAP, Medicaid, SSI or federal public housing assistance. If you are not sure, apply anyway and we will tell you.
Your name, address, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. It takes about ten minutes on a phone.
A photo ID, and proof of the benefit or the income you are qualifying under. You can photograph them with your phone and upload them inside the application.
Once you are approved we get a device and an active line into your hands. If something goes wrong later you call us here in Kansas City.
Questions
Yes. If you qualify there is no monthly bill and no charge for the device. The federal Lifeline program pays for it. We never ask for a credit card to enroll.
Households under the federal income threshold, and households already receiving SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, federal public housing assistance or certain veterans benefits. One line per household.
Most applications get an answer within a few business days, as long as the documents are readable. Blurry photos are the single most common cause of delay, so take the picture in good light.
Kansas City is home and it is where we do in-person enrollment. The phone program itself reaches beyond the metro — apply and we will confirm coverage at your address.
